MARINE PAINTER IN OILS · COWES, ISLE OF WIGHT

Yachts painted by someone who has sailed many of them

Fourteen Fastnets and more than 200 RORC races taught me how a yacht sits on her lines under load, and how light and sea change a moment. I paint that, in oils, for the people who know her best.

A yacht is rarely just a boat

She may stand for a race won, a long passage, a family's summers or years of ownership. Send your photographs and tell me her story; we agree the view, the sea and the size before I begin, and you see the painting develop. Commissions from £850.

ABOUT

Painted with a sailor's eye

More than twenty years in advertising, as owner and creative director of Greenfield Marketing and then LeePeckGreenfield, taught me how to make an image work. Fifty-five years of offshore racing, from my first RORC race in 1971 to 14 Fastnets, taught me how a yacht should look when she is working. Now retired, I paint full time.

A letter from the Cowes studio

Once a month: new work, a painting on the easel and the boat behind it. No more than that. Send a note with "Studio letter" in the subject and I will add you to the list.
