YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This policy explains how Stuart Greenfield, marine artist, of Cowes, Isle of Wight, collects and uses personal information through stuartgreenfield.co.uk. I am the data controller for that information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What I collect
When you send an enquiry or commission request, I collect the details you choose to give me: your name, email address, phone number, the name, class or design of your yacht, a preferred date, any photographs you upload and your message. If you buy from the site, I also collect what is needed to complete the order, such as your delivery address. Payments are handled by the payment provider and I do not see or store your card details.
How I use it
I use your information only to reply to your enquiry, to discuss, paint and deliver a commission or print, and to keep a record of our correspondence. My lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing that contract, and my legitimate interest in running my art business. I do not sell your information and I do not send marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them.
Photographs you send
Photographs of your yacht are used as reference for your painting. I will not publish your photographs, or name you as a client, without your permission.
Who can see it
The website is hosted by Wix.com, which stores form submissions and order details on my behalf as a data processor. Some of Wix's servers are outside the UK; Wix protects transfers with recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. I share your details with a courier only when that is needed to deliver your painting or print.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries that do not lead to a commission for up to two years, and records of commissions and sales for up to six years to meet accounting and tax requirements. After that they are deleted.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are essential for it to work and, only if you agree through the cookie banner, cookies that help me understand how visitors use the site. You can change your choice at any time through the banner or your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or send it to you in a portable format. To make a request, email stuart@greenfield.co.uk. I will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
